The Operation Of NSC Technical Consultants

Following on the success of the Coach House Brewing Company, Neil Chantrell received many requests from other brewers starting their own brewing operations but who lacked the necessary training and expertise. It became apparent that in order for this advice system to work efficiently it must be placed on a commercial footing and so NSC Technical consultants was born. There have been many projects since that inception ranging from the small ( e.g.. recipe formulation or water treatment ) to large scale complete design projects for international breweries encompassing the whole project from building design through to training and commissioning. All aspects are guaranteed the personal involvement of Neil Chantrell and his wide range of brewing contacts bringing you a 100 years of brewing expertise.

The list below covers most if not all of the current years product range.

BLUNDERBUS STRONG PORTER

Blunderbus is described in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide as a " super winter beer. The intense roast flavour is backed up by coffee, chocolate and liquorice, and hints of spice and smoke. Very well hopped; massive mouth feel. An intense chewy pint which is surprisingly refreshing and moreish" The origins of Blunderbus go way back before Camra or even Watney's was a glint in anyones eye. Blunderbus is my attempt to faithfully re-create a recipe I found in the archives of Greenall Whitley of a porter brewed by them up to 1912. The recipe is complete with the annotations of the mash room foreman and as such is a unique record for a brewer. Interested brewers of all sizes can receive a copy of the original on request.
There are many other recipes and brewing details available from these archives and interested parties are invited to contact me by e-mail.

NSC Consultants have a good working relationship with other people in the business of manufacturing and supplying brewing and packaging equipment. We have extensive experience in brewing in very large plants , smaller regional breweries and the new breed of micros and pub breweries . I challenge anyone to match this breadth of experience and practical knowledge.
I can introduce you to the wonderful world of hop varieties , both in the UK and beyond . The subtle characteristics of hop varieties lend more to creating the elusive moreishness of beers than any other ingredient.

There have been collaborative projects with Brendan Dobbin of Peter Dobbin & Dobbin on Micro Brewery Installations such as the Porter House Brewery in Dublin. There is also a very close working relationship with Gordon Bailey of World wide Process Plant Ltd. Gordon specialises in the sourcing and refurbishing of brewing and packaging equipment together with a variety of other manufacturing equipment to the world at large.
Together we have an unparalleled experience to offer those who wish to enter the arena of craft brewing . We pride our selves on our achievements in brewing and now wish to help others achieve the same success.
